SMTconnect trade fair is taking place in Nuremberg from 11 – 13 June. Jeannette Meyer, Deputy Vice President of SMTconnect, explains in a brief interview what this trade fair has to do with Cleanzone and why it could be worthwhile for you to visit.
Ms Meyer, SMTconnect is a trade fair for electronics production - a topic in which cleanrooms also play an important role. Where are the interfaces?
Ultra-clean production environments play a central role in electronics manufacturing. Many electronics manufacturing processes take place in so-called clean rooms, in which air quality and cleanliness are strictly controlled. This is of crucial importance, as product quality is largely dependent on the cleanliness of the environment. Even the smallest particulate contamination can lead to considerable product damage, which can affect the reliability and service life of electronic components. And here we have the interface to the Cleanzone, because this is all about cleanrooms.
Which exhibition highlights could be of particular interest to the cleanroom industry? Are there any special events on this topic?
The widespread use of electronic products in all areas of life leads to an enormous variety of production requirements. This poses major challenges for today's manufacturing technology, such as the miniaturization of components and the continuous pressure to reduce costs. Interesting aspects for visitors are in the area of process and production, the presentation of various technologies or the topics of production quality as well as reliability and testing, inspection systems.
A visitor highlight at the SMTconnect is the “Future Packaging” production line from the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM). It shows the interaction of the various machines in individual production steps and how they are interlinked. The numerous exhibitors on the production line as well as on the trade fair stands will answer the underlying requirements for cleanroom technology.
Thank you Mrs Meyer, a visit is definitely worthwhile for the cleanroom community. What other information would you like to pass on to potential trade fair visitors?
The SMTconnect is the industry meeting place in Nuremberg, Germany from 11 – 13 June 2024, where experts network and the entire spectrum of electronics manufacturing is presented in one place. Visitors can experience the trade fair daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are available in the ticket store.
